Tips for Defeating Orthus on Damnation / Hard Mode
Psyker with shield is a big help. Basically shuts down the ranged boss and really useful to limit the LoS of ranged mobs.
a good anti armor solution is a must. You need to be dealing with the flak ragers, crushers, and maulers ASAP. For me, this was a combination of a braced auto (w/ chastise) and the mk15 eviscerator. Revolver specifically was not adequate.
Someone with stealth to pick people up is really helpful. Each boss will basically make it impossible for one person each to do this, so there’s only ever one person who can res normally. If they’re busy with a crusher or something, you just can’t do it. Being able to force the res with stealth is really useful.
Focusing down the ranged boss is really useful as well. Once he’s dead, you stop getting the poison gas floor phase and also just the lack of grenades really opens up the arena.
Someone should also be purposefully setting off (but avoiding) the grenades to clear space as well. They never disappear on their own, so if they build up too much it can really hinder your ability to move safely.
