There are several things you can do to get past Shield Maze on higher difficulties.
Shield Maze Tips
A common tactic is to get a level in pet classes for each companion (like getting a horse for Seelah) to have extra bodies that will take hits for you – the advantage is that pets resurrect on rest, and since you aren’t limited in time, you can rest before and after each fight until you get past it.
If you’re a Sword Saint, you probably have access to Grease – it’s invaluable for crowd control pretty much at any point of the game, but especially at the start. Again, easy to abuse in every encounter with unlimited rests.
If all else fails, give everyone a crossbow, position them around a long table (there is one in a room near the entrance), then lure enemies in there and pepper them with arrows while one character with the highest move speed kites them around the table. This works for every enemy in the maze, including the boss.
