Devil’s Web Deck

I’m back, this time I bring you a move-control deck I built at the beginning of the season. The general gameplan for this deck is to clog up one of your opponents location on turn 4 or 5 usually and then use t6 to win another. The deck can take a while to get used to and requires a good amount of thinking while playing it.

The clog options in this deck include Doctor Octopus, Aero, Spider-Man and Acid Arrow, might not seem much but since you’re just trying to clog 1 lane you can play smart and clog a lane your opponent has already played cards in, this can be helped by Daredevil, especially in combination with Aero to make sure you clog and win that lane.
As for finishers, this deck has multiple, all of which usually include 1 or 2 movers like Ghost-Spider, Iron Fist or Grapple Arrow
- Mover + 2099: you’ll want to try to move 2099 into a lane where his chances of hitting something good are high to swing that lane
- 2 movers + Dagger + …: you will want to move your dagger into the clogged lane and then back out again to get her really big and win the second lane
- Mover + Dagger + Jugg: this is a variation on the previous one, doing one less mover and instead playing Juggernaut, this finisher is especially good if you weren’t able to clog and win a lane because you can win 1 lane with Jugg and a second with a big Dager
- Mover + Aero: preferably without priority this combo will allow you to move a card of your opponent and then move Aero out of that lane to use her power elsewhere, especially good against deck that use to play a single card t6
It can be hard to know where to play what as you usually aren’t winning lanes by a ton if points, Captain Marvel and Jeff can help with that by shuffling around power late.
I will not be doing a full breakdown of each card as I’ve already mentioned most of them and their uses so I will just be going over Kate’s 2 arrows I haven’t yet:
- Pym Arrow and Basic Arrow: these 2 are the less desirable arrows you’d want to get from Kate Bishop, both of them are similar in that they have decent stats as 1/4’s, Pym arrow however is slightly better as it doesn’t need any setup.
As an example of how a game optimally might look like for this deck:
- T1 is usually skipped unless you get a 1-cost or energy from a location.
- T2 would optimally be Kate but can also be DD or Jeff.
- T3 then optimally follows up with DD + Acid, can also play Jeff or Kate and/or Basic or Pym arrow or one of your 3-costs.
- T4 should usually be Doc Ock or CapM.
- T5 and t6 are a bit more flexible and depend a bit on what you have and what your opponent is playing.
- T5 you usually wanna finish clogging if you haven’t, can also do double mover + Aero if you already have a lane clogged up.
- T6 should then be on of your finishers mentioned above.
