Considering there’s a hidden achievement “You steal man’s soul!” in reference to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, where you cast Essence Steal by using the Ancient Scroll, there’s definitely a command for it.

If it’s just like SotN’s Soul Steal, the command may be:

← → ↘ ↓ ↙ ← → + Attack

Important Note: You need to have the minimum MP. It took a while but make sure you have an enemy you can kill.
