Instead of the tutorial I used a sandbox game to figure out how each object and process worked. How passengers and planes behave.

After that I knew more and more how I should plan the airport layout and which objects need what numbers.

Gameplay Tips

And from game mechanics and performance I can give you following tips:

Streets

  • Don’t do more than 2 lanes.
  • Keep ways as straight as possible. Then vehicles can use their full speed.

Passenger ways

  • Also try to prevent too many turns and floor changes as this consumes a lot of calculation. Lead passengers in a simple way to their targets and you never get any pathfinding issues
