Quick Guide to Orbitals
Stellaris is pretty vague about exactly what they do, so this is what building a major/minor orbital over deposits does for a Tier 1 Habitat.
TLDR: Orbitals give +3 districts of corresponding deposit. Major gives an extra +0.5 max districts. No deposit gives you building slots instead. Max district and building slot scale with habitat tier.
Mineral Deposit
- Major orbital: +0.5 max districts, +3 mineral districts.
- Minor orbital: +3 mineral districts.
Energy Deposit
- Major orbital: +0.5 max districts, +3 energy districts.
- Minor orbital: +3 energy districts.
Alloy Deposit
- Major orbital: +0.5 max districts, +3 mining districts.
- Minor orbital: +3 mining districts.
No Deposit
- Major orbital: +0.5 max districts, +0.5 building slots.
- Minor orbital: +0.5 building slots.
Strategic Resource Deposit
Same as no deposit if you dont have the extraction tech researched. If you do, gives you +1 extraction job of corresponding resource per amount.
Research Deposit
- Major orbital: +0.5 max districts, +3 research districts.
- Minor orbital: +3 research districts.
Zro Deposit
Same as research deposit.
Important Note: In your home system, you’ll get +0.75 max districts and +0.75 building slots instead of 0.5 because the starting habitat is already tier 2, and the bonuses you get to max districts and building slots scales with your habitat tier.
I hope the above information was helpful. Happy gaming!
Did they fix the bug where a resource deposit “discovered” (IE created) by The Surveyor didnt change the options for a Habitat?
