Relic Tips
There are 6 different slots for relics:
Relics have main and substats. Each slot has a possible unique main stat for them, often we will try to aim for them. Relic set bonuses are very good and there will be times where you’ll want the sets bonuses BUT at the start it’s better to focus on main stats.

As for the substats, any relics can have any of them as long as it is not the main stat.
Old relics can be used to level up your better ones:
Feel free to level up your relics to a comfortable level. Even if they are not going to last forever you’ll get most of your resources back, it’s worth it.
