Build Guide for Messmer’s Javelin Thrower
I really liked the little throw you did on Messmer’s Spear, so I made a little throwing build for it. This build is level 151 just to make the numbers look nice. if you’re lvl 150, just drop 1 point of strength.
Stats:
- 60 Vigor
- 10 Mind
- 20 Endurance
- 15 Str
- 70 Dex
- 35 Fth
If you use the skill a bunch (my personal build):
- 60 Vigor
- 20 Mind
- 20 End
- 15 Str
- 50 Dex
- 45 Fth
Armor Choices:
Rakshasas armor gives you more damage, but less damage reduction this is fine, we will be ranged
Talisman Choices:
- Two handed sword talisman: this thing is great for anything while using the spear. you shouldn’t be playing this build while one-handing.
- Smithing talisman: this one is self explanatory.
- Axe talisman: this build mainly focuses on throwing the spear with the held heavy, so it works great for us.
- Fire scorpion charm: fairly obvious.
Options for Swapping Talismans:
If you’re having stamina problems, swap the smithing / axe talisman for the two headed turtle talisman
If you find yourself using that skill way too much (i dont blame you. it’s amazing damage and the first part comes out fairly quick) swap out the smithing/axe talisman for the shard of alexander. (also, drop down to 50 dex, 45 fth, 20 mind)
Spear talisman is also a viable swap-out, i don’t know if it works with the thrown attack, but it should theoretically. go ahead and get rid of the fire scorpion charm or smithing talisman if you use this.
If you’re struggling to survive, swap out fire-scorpion charm for dragoncrest greatshield
Incantation Choices:
Golden vow.. its free damage. Flame, grant me strength: why this over howl of shabriri? we are FAR too squishy to be giving ourselves another 30% less damage reduction. if you think you’re a god and really need that 5% more damage, go for it. but otherwise, it’s kinda useless.
Crystal Tears:
Bloodsucking is free damage, but if it annoys you just go the charged attack tear. Flame shrouding cracked tear.
