Tips to Find Morkite in the Tutorial
Keep working your way down the tunnel and into the other room(s). Look for brown dirt to dig through, it says ‘compressed dirt’ if you hold Ctrl and aim your laser pointer at it.
And hold TAB for your map. Press space to orient yourself in the direction your holding the map.
In the tutorial and outside, there is always one room at the end of mining expeditions (lowest point in the cave usually) that should have more than enough morkite to finish the mission.
Keep working your way lower and you’ll find it.
