Deep Rock Galactic – Quick Guide to Deep Dives (DD)

Deep Dives (DD) Explained

Deep dives are the hardest content DRG has to offer, so here are some things to know when doing one.

During a DD your number one goal is to go deeper, so complete your objective fast, and play efficiently. Also if you fail any stage of a DD you have to start the whole DD over, so be aware.

Nothing but Objectives, Nitra, Gold, And Bugs spawn during a DD, so don’t waste time looking for machine events or other non objective related content.

The DD is made of three stages you need to complete. Each stage resembles a standard mission, but with a special and required secondary objective. The secondary objective is a small chunk of a different mission type slapped on top. This objective ranges from collecting morkite to killing a dreadnaught. Note: the secondary objective will never be the same as the primary objective.

Between the stages you are awarded with varying types of matrix cores, infused and blank. If you complete one stage but fail the next you keep the cores earned from any previously completed stages.

You retain your ammo and health between stages, so if you end one stage with low health/ammo, you’ll start the next stage with low health/ammo. You also retain all minerals, whether deposited or in your pockets. The important one is Nitra. Try to save enough nitra for at least one resupply, for the next stage. Also try to have a bit of health and ammo leftover when finishing a stage, to take care of the initial swarm (present on some mission types) on the next stage.

Used perks also are refreshed when moving from one stage to another, so feel free to use those as normal.

  • Finally, on a DD the hazard level for each stage, in order is the following: 3, 3.5, 3.5
  • And for EDD (elite deep dives) it is in order: 4.5, 5, 5.5

I hope you found this helpful!
