DAVE THE DIVER – The Secret of GYAO

Quick Guide to GYAO! Mini-Game

Here goes how GYAO works:

  • 1 day = 1 year. 1 feed = 1 hunger and 1 snack = 1 love. Discipline must be done when the warning light (bottom left orange face) is on. 1 discipline gives 3 bars. Your GYAO WILL eventually die. They all have life spans.

GYAO evolution is divided into 5 stages:

  1. Larvae/Egg. You can’t interact with the GYAO in this stage.
  2. Fry
  3. Baby fish – Two types. Orange and Blue. Orange babies come from 3-4 feeding and love at all times while blue babies come from 1-2 feeding and love. They will evolve to adult fish at 4 years old.
  4. Adult fish – solution included below.
  5. Rare Fish

Rare fish are whale sharks and killer whales. Beluga whales can evolve into whale sharks, and lemon sharks can evolve into killer whales. The evolution condition is full training bar. In particular, beluga whales must be fully trained before the age of 9, otherwise they will die, and lemon sharks must be fully trained at the age of 12, otherwise they will die.

Before the 4th stage evolution, it is recommended to save more files to ensure that the training meter will not be lost. If the evolution fails, it can be recovered through reload. There is no training requirement for other fish not mentioned.

Regarding Training Values:

  • Before night in the game, after feeding and playing in the morning and afternoon, look at the first “Attention” button (warning light) in the bottom row. If it is still on, it means that the training value can be increased. If it is not lit, it cannot be increased.
  • In the evening, if there’s no sickness or poop and GYAO still displayed a green exclamation mark on the phone, there is a high probability that the training will be lost the next day, so it is recommended to save before training in the afternoon.
  • If you don’t turn off the lights at night when they’re sick, there is a chance that the training value will not be lost the next day.

Adult Fish Solution

Yellow Fish

Note: The above list is the stats you need to achieve BEFORE they evolve. If you revive your fish in the morning, it will always evolve in the afternoon. If you revive it in the afternoon, it will always evolve at night. It is not recommended to revive it during night because you cannot adjust stats before it evolves.

Highlighted boxes mean discipline can affect which ones you get. The threshold is 8 bars. If you have less than 8 bars of discipline, your fish will evolve into the top one. If you have 8 bars or more discipline, your fish will evolve into the bottom one.

Non-highlighted boxes means they will randomly evolve into one of the two. Make sure you manually save before adjusting the stats so you can reload if any error occurs or you didn’t get the ones you wanted.

Beluga will evolve into Whale Shark if it reached max discipline at 9 yrs old otherwise it will die.

Blue Fish

Note: Same thing from previous note applies here but with a little twist. There can be 3 possibilities in highlighted boxes now. Lemon Shark requires 9 bars or more discipline or your fish won’t evolve to it. Parrotfish is the trickier one here. Sharing the same boxes with Lemon Shark but doesn’t need any discipline at all.

Lemon Shark will evolve into Orca if it reached max discipline at 12 yrs old otherwise it will die.

I sincerely hope this was helpful. Good luck to you!
