As you may be aware, every map now includes numerous areas where you may set up mines to create bricks or metal as of the 1.0 release. This map’s [Floodplains] mining spots are all listed in this guide.

Note: Keep in mind that each mining location may only sustain one mine, and that a mine can only generate bricks or metal—not both—so it may be wise to locate your colony between two mining locations that are adjacent to one another.
